General Info & Use
Yearly Investing Allocations: The “Yearly Investing Accounts” dashboard card formats all investment accounts in bar charts, representing the yearly allocation total for each account, as indicated in the framework workflow. Each account type is represented by a distinct icon: a brokerage account by an upward arrow, a Roth IRA by a shield, a Traditional IRA by a clock, an HSA by a heart, and a 401(k) by a briefcase. The progress of current contributions towards each account for the given plan year is represented by a green inner-bar, with the percent completion towards the overall yearly goal shown via the percent value located just above the green inner-bar. The percent completion may exceed 100% if extra contributions are made to the specific investment account, and extra contributions will be noted within each investment sub-card.
Inner Modal:
-
Total Allocations Chart: The chart condenses all investment allocation data for the current calendar year (January through December), combining both current contributions year-to-date and expected future contributions. The current month is bordered in black lines. The expected future contributions are estimated for future months by taking the total yearly investment allocations (located at the top of the “Yearly Investing Allocations” card) and dividing by 12; each bar increases subsequently by this value, even if extra contributions are made on top of their expected monthly investment allocations. Users may tap the graph on a future date to see an estimated total contribution value.
-
Fund Completion: A pie chart with the total progress towards the “Yearly Investing Allocations” completion. The 100% value correlates to the sum of planned yearly investment allocations towards each account. Additional contributions on top of the planned allocation to a specific account do not contribute to the overall fund progress. However, users may still contribute excess capital on top of a specific account contribution goal, which will be denoted as “Extra Contributions” next to each account card.
-
Account Cards: At the bottom of the page holds all investment accounts created during the workflow, denoted as a unique card per account. On each card is the contribution year-to-date, followed by the total planned allocations to that account for the current calendar year. Additional contributions on top of the yearly contribution amount are added in green (“Extra Contributions”) at the bottom of the investment account sub-card.
Adding Manual Contributions: To add a manual contribution to one of the accounts listed inside the “Yearly Investing Plan” page, simply tap the “+” icon on that account subtype card. On the new screen, users can make a manual contribution by tapping either “New Contribution” (one time contribution), or “Recurring Investment” (manual recurring investment that is automatically updated by Vassant). A single contribution (“New Contribution”) is updated automatically when saved. A recurring contribution (“Recurring Investment”) has more flexibility for automation: a unique frequency and a start date can be added. The frequency denotes what intervals Vassant will make a recurring investment allocation update on your behalf.
- Updating Manual Contributions: A “Recurring Investment” can be updated or removed at any time by . Also, all manual contributions may be removed by pressing “Remove All Contributions” on any individual account subtype screen, or removing individual contributions within the “Activity History” tab.
Viewing the “Financial Framework Overview”: At any time, the overview may be accessed by scrolling to the bottom of the screen and tapping the “View Allocation Details” button. The following page is the same setup as the “Financial Framework Overview” page. Edits to allocations may be made here, rather than retaking the entire workflow.
Notes on the “Investable Cash Flow” value and its impact on the “Financial Framework”: Excess “Investable Cash Flow” not allocated in the “Financial Framework” will be visible on the dashboard as an orange warning message. You may re-allocate extra “Investable Cash Flow” on the “View Allocation Details” overview at any time. Changes to “Investable Cash Flow” that result in an over-allocation will be visible on the dashboard as a red warning message. To re-allocate extra “Investable Cash Flow,” simply tap the “View Allocation Details” button at the bottom of the dashboard screen and edit allocations. To use a different “Investable Cash Flow” value, users must edit their “Budget” first.
